Popsicle in the Park
Join the ASYMCA sta! team each week of an afternoon fun summer play! Each week, we will be at a di!erent park, ready to share the simple joy of a summer popsicle while meeting our wonderful military families. Weekly park locations can found on alaska.asymca.org. This is a drop-in program, no registration needed.
College Tour Scholarship
Two military teens and a parent or guardian will be selected for a college tour. Applications are accepted August 10–October 2 and require a one-minute video submission. In partnership with Alaska Airlines and Global Credit Union Foundation.
Extra Credit For Your Classroom
Local classroom teachers with an Active Duty Military ID and Teacher ID can receive a $25 ASYMCA voucher for Ft. Richardson, and Elmendorf Bargain Shops. Classroom teachers can use their vouchers on classroom supplies, educational materials, books, organization tools, and learning resources. Pick-up vouchers at ASYMCA Welcome Centers.
Ocean Salmon Fishing with Hofstad Fishing Co.
Fish for salmon in the open ocean! Our guides from Hofstad Fishing Company will take us out on a saltwater adventure, where you’ll learn ocean fishing techniques, how to reel in salmon, and tips for handling your catch. Enjoy a day on the water while experiencing the thrill of ocean fishing. Alaska fishing license required. Transportation and lodging not provided
Back-To-School Snack Bash
Ready for back to school? Stop by your ASYMCA Welcome Centers to fill a provided bag with your favorite snacks from our Snack Bash table! Powered by Wounded Warrior Project.
Teen Volunteer Opportunity
Build your resume by volunteering! Join us the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. to volunteer at the ASYMCA Bargain Shops. As a volunteer, you’ll receive special Bargain Shop perks! Registration is required. Powered by the Wounded Warrior Project.
Deployment Event
Stay connected with your deployed loved one through creativity and connection. Families will create and decorate cards filled with thoughtful messages and reminders of home. This event includes lunch and provides an opportunity to connect with other families navigating deployment while showing support for those serving overseas.
Winter Gear Up: Teen Preview Night
Get first dibs on this season’s winter gear at Teen Preview Night! We are opening doors early just for military teens. Enjoy music, snacks, and early access to winter gear before the larger community event begins.
Nominate An Outstanding Military Spouse or Civic Leader
The 50th Annual Salute to the Military celebration will be held in mid-February in Anchorage. Each year, we recognize an outstanding military spouse and civic leader whose service strengthens Alaska’s military community. These peer-nominated awards are open from October 1–November 30.

Father-Daughter Gala
Dads and daughters, get ready to dress up! Join us for this year’s ASYMCA Father-Daughter Gala. Families can enjoy music, dancing, professional photos, and a memorable evening together. Registration is required
Little Explorers & Tiny Trekkers
Connect with local military parents at our weekly ASYMCA playgroups! Led by our early childhood instructors, babies and toddlers will enjoy songs, bubbles, sensory play, and age-appropriate movement activities while parents connect with other military families. Little Explorers is designed for infants ages 6–11 months, while Tiny Trekkers is for toddlers ages 12–18 months, with activities tailored to each stage of development. Registration is required.
