Arctic Warrior Wishes

Our annual holiday wish granting program for active duty military (E1–E5) stationed in Alaska. Registration happens annually in November. Volunteer wish granters make this program possible! Learn how to you can bring holiday cheer to Alaskan service members and military families.

Kicksled Rentals (Fairbanks Only)

Experience Alaska winters on a kicksled! Visit our registration portal to reserve your kicksled rental and enjoy Alaska's winter trails and recreational destinations. Available at ASYMCA's Fairbanks location.

Mother-Son Adventure

Enjoy a day of outdoor Alaskan adventure together! This annual summer program is offered in both the Fairbanks and Anchorage areas. Open to children of active duty, guard, or reserve service members and their female role models.

Merry Breakfast Bundles

Our annual holiday bundles include cinnamon rolls, eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage, hot cocoa, and marshmallows. Registration opens annually in December.

Military Spouse Summer Camp

Summer camp is for grown-ups, too! Rest and recharge with fellow female military spouses at ASYMCA's annual Spouse Summer Camp overnight getaway.

Operation Ride Home

Reconnect with family during the holiday season! Operation Ride Home sponsors travel for service members and their dependents, allowing them to spend time with their loved ones.

JBER Clean Up Week

Join the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska for the annual JBER Clean Up Week! Form a team, then see how many bags of trash you collect! Each bag of trash collected gives your team an entry in our drawing for up one of our three cash prizes—$1,000, $500, and $250! Details coming soon.

Center Discovery

Eielson AFB & JBER

Experience the ASYMCA Early Learning Center where your child can engage in play-based learning! We will have story time, a craft, and three other centers available for self-paced play and discovery. Choose a 1-hour time block listed below.

  • Time Blocks: Thursday from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00–11:00 a.m.
  • Who: Ages 2-4 with parent (older siblings welcome)

    Manners & Skills for Today's Teens

    Eielson AFB

    Understanding expectations in different situations helps teens develop a sense of confidence. Through games, interactive scenarios, and mentorship, we will review skills based on common teen questions that are rooted in real world application. Powered by Wounded Warrior Project.

  • Date & Time: Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Location: Early Learning Center

    Discover the ASYMCA OF AK

    Ft. Wainwright & JBER

    Stop by an ASYMCA Welcome Center to learn about Alaska and ASYMCA programs! This interactive welcome will provide hands-on opportunities to learn your base’s “must knows” and how to get involved in programs. Finish by grabbing a Challenge Card and completing a self-paced visit to our facilities for a great summer treat! Drop-in program, no registration required.

    Movin' & Groovin' with the ASYMCA

    Different themes will focus on large and fine movements, following instructions, and sensory exploration. Registration is requested. Parent(s) must be present. No cost.

    Salmon Fishing Day Trip

    Statewide

    Fish for salmon on the Kenai River! We’ll take a powerboat to productive gravel bars where guides will provide hands-on instruction on how to fish for and catch salmon, care for your catch, identify fishing spots, and tie basic knots. Alaska fishing license required. Transportation and lodging not provided.

  • Trip #1: July 12 (open to active dute military members)
  • Trip #2: July 25 (open to active duty female military spouses)

    No-Bake Cooking Class with Dad

    Eielson AFB & JBER

    Spend an early evening together learning how to make fun snacks and treats together! Dads and their kiddos will get to create and take home samples, as well as recipes to make again and maybe a new hobby! Significant male role models are welcome to accompany child(ren).

    School-Age Messy Art

    All the projects that you wish the kids would do, but maybe not at your kitchen table! We’ve got you covered, and we’ll help with the clean up! Registration requested, walk-ins accepted.

  • Who: School age (entering grades 2–6 in Fall 2024)
  • Cost: $5 per session

    Summer Sampler Marketplace Kits

    Ft. Wainwright & Eielson AFB

    Check out our summer-themed kits available twice a month on a first-come, first-served basis at the ASYMCA Marketplace. Each kit is designed to take one night of meal planning off your plate. We’ll prep everything you need for a quick, easy, and filling meal or treat. Military ID required, no cost.

  • Date & Time: May 31, June 7, June 28, July 12, July 26, and August 9 from 3:00–5:00p .m.
  • Location: ASYMCA Marketplaces
  • Who: Currently serving military members. (One per family)
