**UPDATE** The Children’s Waiting Room on JBER is relocating. The JBER Hospital location will close January 20. From January 20–28, appointments will be available on Tuesdays–Thursdays at ASYMCA Child Watch located inside the ASYMCA Early Learning Center located at Building 690. There will be no care offered January 29–30.
Children’s Waiting Room will re-open in its new location on February 2. The new location will be inside Global Credit Union in the new ASYMCA Child Watch suite (4846 Westover Ave., Ste. 100). Hours will be Mondays from 9:15 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and Tuesdays–Fridays from 8:15 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Appointments are required. Up to two hours of care will be provided at no cost for families attending medical appointments on the installation (including Military & Family Life Counselor [MFLC] appointments) and/or at The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic on Muldoon Road in Anchorage. As of February 2, 2026, children must be at least 6 months old to be eligible for care.
We are happy to provide short-term child care for your child(ren) during medical appointments! Our Children’s Waiting Rooms are located on installations and offer up to two hours of supervised care in kid-friendly spaces. This program is available to active-duty dependents of those who qualify for medical facility services.
Appointments are strongly recommended. Pre-registation and a copy of your child(ren)’s immunization records (uploaded to their account) are required prior to your first visit. Scroll below for details.
ASYMCA Children’s Waiting Rooms are available to military children ages 6 months–12 years whose families are attending medical appointments on the installation (including Military & Family Life Counselor [MFLC] appointments) or for verified medical appointments at The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic on Muldoon Road in Anchorage. This program is available to dependents of those who qualify for medical facility services.
Up to two hours of care is provided at no cost to military families.
